The Christmas Stocking

‘He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.’ – Roy L. Smith

Merry Christmas.

Santa did eventually find me, I imagine his journey must have been long and tiring, with the amounts of amazing things I found in my stocking, it really must have been quite a lot of work.

Today was extremely hard, the first time I spent Christmas away from my family, I woke up wishing I could run into their bedroom yelling Merry Christmas to them. It took me some time to compose myself, but at the end of the day I learnt something extremely important.

After opening Christmas presents, sharing laughs over delicious food, I realized that maybe I wasn’t with my parents and my sister having Christmas lunch with them but I was with family and I was home.

This will always be known as home, this will always be family.
